Maccabi Masters round-up: March 17

On a busy day for the Maccabi Masters there was action in both divisions of the league and in both Cup competitions.

In the Henry Swerner Cup, Brady A and South Mancs progressed to the semi-finals after wins against St John’s Wood Tigers and Hendon Harriers respectively.

Brady beat St John’s Wood Tigers 5-2, thanks to a hat-trick from Max Radford, a goal from Scott Ansher and an own goal. Mark Kingston and Perry Somers replied for Tigers.

Meanwhile, South Mancs dispatched Hendon Harriers 3-1 with goals from Joel Nathan (2) and Jon Bruck. Hadley Silver netted Harriers’ consolation.

In the Nathan Horwitz MMFL Division 2 Cup, Temple Fortune overcame Ashlodge CPC with goals from Graham Meyer (2), Robert Botkai and James Ryan giving them a 4-1 win, with Ian Sumray grabbing one in reply for Ashlodge.

In the league, Scrabble earned their second consecutive draw and in doing so, dented Southgate Harmen' title hopes in a 3-3 draw in Division One. Alex Bourne (2) and Jonny Mack scored for Harmen.

London Maccabi Lions maintained their Division Two title charge with a 3-0 win over Glenthorne C, courtesy of goals from Darryl Lazarus, Marc Morris and Simon Black.

A hat-trick from Brian Deal inspired Brady B to a 5-2 success over Marshside. Adam Lustigman and a rare goal from centre back Mark Abrahams finished the job. Pete Mathews and Spencer Brookner scored for Marshside.
