Maccabi Masters review: September 16

articlemain

Southgate Harmen made their first ever appearance in the Maccabi Masters Football League defeating South Mancs 2-0 in Division One with the Becker brothers, Lloyd and Russell, opening their accounts.

Also new to the league, Waldaf Town faced champions Brady Maccabi and were beaten 3-1 with goals from Nick Collins, Scott Ansher and Mark Wagman. Joel Davis replied for Town.

Division 2 EDRS were the day's biggest winners hitting eight without reply against Glenthorne 'C' with goals from Martin Seifert (3), Mark Kingston (2), Mark Schneiderman, Steve Kreiger and Ian Leader.

Frank Steinberg denied St Johns Wood Tigers a league debut win with an 89th minute equaliser for London Maccabi Lions after the newcomers had taken the lead through Richard Smith.

A 25-yard volley from Mike Lee gave Brady Maccabi 'B' the advantage only for a Brain Deal goal to give Ashlodge/CPC a share of the points.
