Maccabi Masters review: October 16

articlemain

The Maccabi Masters Rep Team's run in the Peter Morrison Trophy was short-lived as they were beaten 3-1 by Brady Maccabi B of Division Four of the JC MSFL.

Nick Collins scored for the Masters.

Dan Collins, the Masters joint-manager, told JC Sport: "Brady are a good young team and will do well.

"They didn't let us play our usual game and gave us no time on the ball.

"I wish them luck for the rest of the season."

Glenthorne United A recorded their first win of the Maccabi Masters Division One season to creep off the bottom of the table after the narrowest of wins over Scrabble. Jason Levy grabbed the only goal of the game.

Marshside made their belated debut and raced to a 3-0 half-time lead over Clayhall with two long-range shots from Danny Sofizade and an own goal in Division Two. Clayhall responded after the interval with two goals from Warren Ludwin and a penalty from Gary Rowland, but a breakaway move finished by Stuart Brooks gave Marshside a 4-3 win and the points.

Leaders Glenthorne B made it four wins out of four with a 4-2 victory over Temple Fortune, with goals from Sid Shaw, Gary Swerner, Jon Bolle and Adam Lennard. Allon Schick-Maier and James Ryan replied for Fortune.

Brady B kept up their challenge as they edged past Ashlodge. They came from behind after Geoff Isaacs and John Seigal registered for Ashlodge.

Brady came back to win 3-2 thanks to Jonny Cohen, a penalty from Malcolm Hershman and a late winner from Gary Rose.

London Maccabi Lions moved up into third place with a 4-2 win over EDRS inspired by a hat-trick from MARC MORRIS. Stuart Coutts scored Lions' other goal, with Roger Levitt and Phil Silver replied for EDRS.
