Maccabi Masters review: November 3

articlemain

Southgate Harmen extended their lead at the top of the Maccabi Masters League Division One table with a convincing 4-0 win over Waldaf Town.

Strikes from Alex Bourne (2), Lloyd Becker and Daniel Hodes sent the Southgate boys three points clear.

In Division Two, there were big wins for the top four teams, with two of the leading title contenders reaching double figures.

A fab four-goal salvo from Gary Adams inspired Glenthorne A to a 10-0 demolition of stablemates Glenthorne B. Greg Morris also bagged a hat-trick, with David Michaels, David Simmons and an own goal adding to the tally.

London Maccabi Lions came from a goal down to thump Temple Fortune 10-1. A shock looked on the cards early on when James Ryan put Fortune ahead, but LML hit back in style with strikes from Darren Young, Marc Morris, Darren Coon (2), Simon Barr, Stuart Coutts (2), Simon Black, Laurence Leigh and David Price easing them home.

Fortune boss David Goldberg said: "I was a bit shell-shocked by the final score in the end. After our first half performance, I could never see that coming. There was a complete collapse."

Russell Rich (2), Jon Holman (2) and Marc Schneiderman saw EDRS Stonegrove home to a 5-1 win over Marshside. Barry White fired a consolation for Marshside - his first-ever goal in Masters’ football.

Scott Ansher fired home four goals in Brady B's 7-3 demolition over St John’s Wood Tigers. Marc Herman, Martin Schultz and Lenny Klein finished the job. Perry Somers, Ashley Davidson and Eric Elbaz replied for Tigers.
