Maccabi Masters review: February 24

Waldaf Town player-manager Richard Davis dented Southgate Harmen's title hopes with a late equaliser following a gripping 2-2 draw in the Maccabi Masters League Division One.

Harmen had gained the upper hand with goals from Alex Bourne and Russell Becker but Davis pulled one back in the first half before scoring a stunning second with a free-kick from 20 yards.

Fellow challengers North London Raiders improved their slender chances, however, as they saw off Scrabble with Gary Cohen, Tony Plaskow and Darren Cohen earning them a 3-1 win. Jeremy Kornhauser pulled one back.

Division Two leaders Glenthorne United B came from two goals down to draw against in-form Temple Fortune B.

Fortune, who are now unbeaten in five, stormed into a 2-0 lead through Robert Botkai and Phil Bloomberg but the Thornes staged a late comeback to share the points.

Fortune manager David Goldberg said: "We played very well again and battled hard and it was a shame we couldn't end up winning. But against them I would have taken a point before hand so I cannot complain too much."

London Maccabi Lions eased past Glenthorne United C 3-0 with goals from Lawrence Swerner, Lawrence Leigh and Darren Coon.

Brady Maccabi B came from a goal down to beat Hendon Harriers 5-2, with goals from Roger Kay (2), Adam Lustigman, Brian Deal and David Boyne. David Hyman and Yossi Arvataz scored for Harriers.
