articlemain

The 2012 Henry Swerner Maccabi Masters Cup Final – to be held at Wingate & Finchley FC on April 29 – will be contested between Brady A and Glenthorne A, after their respective semi-final wins over London Maccabi Lions and South Mancs.

Brady beat Lions 3-1 win with goals from Mark Wagman, Laurence Myers and Nick Collins. Laurence Leigh claimed a consolation for the Lions.

Attempting to deny league champions Brady a second successive ‘double’ will be their nearest league rivals, Glenthorne A, who overcame the challenge from South Mancs 3-0, with goals from Paul Allen, Nick Belkin and an own goal.

In the Nathan Horwitz MMFL Division Two Cup, sponsored by Atlantis Travel, EDRS Stonegrove made it through to the final against Lions or Glenthorne B with a 3-0 win over Temple Fortune.

Steve Krieger (2) and Mark Kingston were the goal men.

The Final will be played at Barnet’s Underhill Stadium on May 16, kicking off at 7.30pm.

In Division 2, Brady B came from behind to beat Glenthorne C 5-2 with goals from Gary Good, Gary Rose, Mark Herman and Roger Kay (2).
