Irving Modling says his team showed great spirit to come from behind to win the first piece of silverware of the MJSL season.

An action-packed contest saw Leeds march into a 2-0 lead with strikes from Johnny Goldstone and an own goal.

Manchester came back into the game after the 70 minutes when Paul Clayton netted from a penalty awarded for a push on Moishe Hasid.

Hasid made it 2-2 minutes later with a cool finish at the far post before Harry Myers capitalised on poor defending to make it 3-2.

Leeds lost centre back Jordan Sherne to a red card, but forced an equaliser with the last kick of normal time through a Robert Selwyn penalty.

Both teams missed their first attempts in the shootout, but Leo Berger, Andy Hatton, Ben Gould, Max Lever and Myers converted to seal the win.

"The most pleasing part of the game for us was that we showed great team spirit to come back from 2-0 down,” said Modling.

"We fielded five young players from the 3rd team and they were all outstanding."
