Lord Triesman 'disappointed' by antisemitic abuse

EXCLUSIVE: Lord Triesman has expressed disappointment after receiving a series of antisemitic messages in the aftermath of the John Terry race case, the JC can reveal.

The former FA chairman recently voiced his opinion after the governing body hit Terry with a four-match ban following remarks aimed at QPR’s Anton Ferdinand.

"I've received more antisemitic abuse in the last two weeks than in the whole of my professional career,” Lord Triesman told the JC. "It's disappointing, but I won’t let it get me down. My attitude is that we must never let antisemitism defeat us.

"It’s not just been people who think I’ve been getting at Chelsea. On the contrary, it’s been coming from all over the place. It’s not a great sign for where we’re going."

Lord Triesman went on to say that he is "not planning to report the abuse to any of the authorities".
