articlemain

London Maccabi Vale under-15s start the colts cricket season against Old Elizabethans Barnet on April 26 at Rowley Lane.

The club's U15s had their best-ever season in 2011, winning their division and gaining promotion. The team will be playing against tougher opposition this year, against the likes of Edmonton, Winchmore Hill and Cockfosters.

Manager, Robert Nyman said: "Many of the team have now moved up into the U17s, but this season will be an opportunity for the rest of the squad to step and be counted, and also pushed for inclusion in the club's newly formed Academy team."

The U11s are once again managed by Tony Wise who sees 2012 as a chance to build a new squad as many have moved up into the U13s. However, at training on Monday, Wise saw the positives. He said: "I've been impressed by the dedication of the squad to training and noticed them improve week by week."

The U13s have successfully recruited several young and promising cricketers in 2012, and captain Thomas Goulde has high hopes for the forthcoming season. He said: "We're expecting a tough opener against Cockfosters, but the team will be pushing to win their divison and gain promotion."

The U17s are once again captained by 2011 colts player of the year Ben Lederman. He will lead many Junior Maccabiah hopefuls this year and are expecting to compete well against the other clubs and finish division champions.

London Maccabi Vale Colts are also excited to announce the addition of an U9s section to the club, which starts on May 6at Rowley Lane. Manager Jonny Feigenbaum expects to form a team to take to the Middlesex U10s tournament at Edmonton this summer, and then play in the U9s league from 2013.
