Bedmond S&S 2
London Lions 14
London Lions maintained their three-point lead at the top of the Herts Senior County League Premier Division with a stunning 14-2 win over Bedmond Sports & Social.
Having beaten Bedmond 10-0 in October, the Lions were odds-on to take maximum points but few in the ground were expecting double figures.
The teams were locked at 1-1 after 25 minutes but Tony Gold’s troops scored five more goals before the break with the second half a one-sided contest.
Lee Cash (4) and Adam Stolerman (4), debutant Aron Barnes (2), Ben Lauffer (2) and David Green completed the rout for the Lions who boast the best goal difference in the division, having scored 79 goals in 19 games and conceded 19.
Gold said: “People will look at this result and say Bedmond must have been pretty poor, but that wasn’t the case, we were excellent. The players showed tremendous professionalism and a real maturity.”
