Lipman wins top award for October

Hendon United Sports Club A have made a clean sweep of my awards for October following a memorable month which has seen them climb to the top of the JC MSFL Premier Division.

Josh Lipman is my player of the month for October.

In a month where the Hammers have only conceded two goals, the Hammers defender has been absolutely outstanding, hardly putting a foot wrong.

Hendon boss David Garbacz told JC Sport: “Josh has been a real inspiration and without doubt the best central defender in the league at the moment on current form.”

Recent signing Danny Kon is the Young Player of the Month. The hotshot has been a revelation since joining from Los Blancos, giving defences a merry dance on several occasions. He has given the team another dimension, including a brace in the cup win over Glenthorne. Purchased for just five-and-a-half smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels, he was arguably the buy of the summer. It's clear that he's a boy destined for great things in Jewish football and is clearly an astute signing by the gaffer.

Garbacz wins Manager of the Month after steering the team to the top of the Premier Division. Two crucial wins over title rivals North West Neasden A, as well as one over Raiders B and a 6-0 victory over Glenthorne A in the cup has left their rivals shaking in their boots.

It has been a real team effort from the Hammers so far, and the signs are that the best is yet to come.

Chigwell Athletic hotshot Glenn Michaels wins the award in Division One. Eight goals including two hat-tricks have taken the east Londoners to the top of the table.

Chigs boss Richard Slater told JC Sport: “Glenn has been a goal machine. He’s looking sharp and hungry and is on a one-man mission to win us the Division One title.

Michaels edged out team-mate Craig Pearl, whose experiences at Watford and Dagenham & Redbridge have also made a difference.

Slater gets the nod for the top manager in Division One, edging out Phil Peters of Norstar. The team has really kicked on since losing to Oakwood on the opening day of the season. They are playing with great confidence and also came through two potentially tricky local derbies in the cup competitions with handsome victories.

Tali Nevies makes it a win double for Hendon. The B team defender has been in imperious form, helping tighten up what has traditionally been a leaky back line.

Hornets managers Motty Korman and Chaim Gothold are the top men in Division Two. The team boasts a 100 per cent record in the league and they are still on target in both cup competitions. They have got the team playing some great, free-flowing football this season and they are playing with real belief.

The top awards are split between two clubs in Division Three. Nicky Plotnek of Shirley Park is my top player after putting in some incredible displays from central midfield. He has run games and put chances on a plate for league top-scorer Saul Conway.

Sam Rosenthal and Craig Sandford, the winners of the award in September, are the Division Three manager of the month. It was touch and go between the dynamic duo and Shirley’s Dave Lusman until last weekend but with Glenthorne having edged a nine-goal thriller after extra time, that made the difference.

There is double delight for North London Raiders C in Division Four. The team has started to pull away at the top of the table.

Marc Fineman has been the star man in Division Four. He has come in and effortlessly replaced the injured Matt Greene in midfield.

Raiders boss Oli Shorts told JC Sport: “It's a tough ask to fill the boots of Matt, however his positioning has really allowed our players to be more attacking knowing that if they were to push forward then Marc would be there filling their position.

“We couldn't have asked for more and he's improved significantly over the last month or so.

“Special mentioned to Martin Leslie for his superb performances in goal and Ben Hart for his six goals during the month.”

Assistant-manager Rich Abrahams added: "Marc has completely outplayed all expectations placed upon him culminating in him captaining the team last weekend. Our league defensive record speaks for itself and he plays a massive part in that."

Oli Shorts wins his first-ever monthly managerial award. Working together with Rich Abrahams, the team has made the perfect start in the league and they came within a goal of extra time against higher league opposition in the cup last weekend, having trailed 4-1 at one point. Shorts has his men playing like a team with goals flying in from all positions.
