Olympic champion Jason Lezak started his preparations for this summer's World Championships in Shanghai by winning gold at the Austin Grand Prix.

Maccabiah gold medallist Lezak edged home ahead of national teammate Josh Schneider in the men's 50m free. Lezak won by just two one-hundredths for the win in 22.57. Schneider was second in 22.59.
