Leeds Maccabi fall to Pudsey

articlemain

A depleted Leeds Maccabi fell to a 5-3 defeat to Pudsey Liberal Club in the Leeds Combination League.

Marcus Mann scored directly from a corner to put Ian Selwyn's side ahead at half time, but a bizarre 10-minute spell at the start of the second half saw Pudsey go 3-1 ahead.

David Woolman pulled a goal back before Pudsey restored their two-goal advantage.

Leeds veteran Steven Feldman, 49, then came on and scored with a sumptuous backheel on his return from a long illness.

Leeds were caught on the counter attack in the dying moments though, to consign them to defeat.

Selwyn said: "I'm delighted with the way they acquitted themselves and it gives us hope and positivity going into next season.

"We've a great squad of players who can perform at the top level when needed."
