Two goals from Richard Black helped Leeds Maccabi cruise into the fourth round of the Peter Morrison Trophy as they overpowered Haroldeans in Liverpool.
Following weather disruptions, the tie finally went ahead at the fourth time of asking and it was the visitors who made all the running.

Black was the star man while further strikes from Colin Abrahams, Dan Ross and Rob Brown set up a tie against Sporting JLGB. Josh Silverberg and Paul Harris replied for Haroldeans.

Leeds boss Ian Selwyn said: "We controlled the ball well in adverse conditions and were just a little bit stronger on the day."

A push on Ross gave Leeds the chance to score from the penalty spot after three minutes, which Black duly converted. The visitors started to settle down and they soon doubled the lead with Black scoring from close range after a goalmouth scramble.

Abrahams converted a cross from Brown shortly afterwards to make it three.

Ross sent Leeds in 4-0 up at the break after firing home from 18 yards.

Haroldeans came back in the second half and won a penalty when Silverberg was fouled. He subsequently slotted home, but hopes of a recovery were ended when Brown capitalised on a defensive error to fire home from 20 yards for Leeds.

Haroldeans scored the final goal of the game with Harris converting a superb free-kick.

Haroldeans boss Ivan Gee bemoaned defensive errors for his side's defeat.

"The stronger team won but all of their goals came from defensive errors on our part," he said. "They were by far the stronger side physically and the better team but if our defence had played as well as they can it would have been closer."

The reward for Leeds is a home tie against Sporting JLGB in round four of the northern draw. The winner will host Manchester Maccabi 1st.
