Leeds Maccabi 2nd dismal start to the season continued as they suffered a fourth consecutive defeat against nine-man Torpedo Woodhall.

Simon Fisher’s men have failed to pick up a single point so far this campaign and have already conceded 22 goals while scoring three.

And their plight was not helped against league leaders Torpedo, who triumphed with ease despite their numerical disadvantage.

Mark Korn’s penalty and a stunning strike from Marcus Shaffner reduced the arrears but with the home side already four goals ahead, there was little time for a Maccabi comeback.

Boss Fisher was disappointed with the result but the performances of Shaffner and 16-year-old debutante Raife Saipe gave reasons for encouragement.

“It was a better performance in some ways but we’re still conceding too many goals,” said Fisher.

“Hopefully we can improve and get our first win soon.”

Meanwhile, Manchester Maccabi 2nd were beaten 5-2 by WD Cosmos after producing a disappointing display.

Emile Davidson and Harry Myers were on target for Martin Simons’ men, who slipped to a painful defeat.
