Lee: We'll learn the hard way

South Manchester SC 1ST 1-3 Miam Miam

Darryl Lee, manager of South Manchester, is confident his team can escape the drop zone once they start turning possession into goals.

Lee could only look on in frustration as his troops slumped to third from bottom against a strong Miam Miam side in the Manchester Accountants League.

Playing their first match in seven weeks against opponents that had lost three times in three seasons, South knew they would have to bring their A-game to the table.

South fell behind but just minutes after replacing the injured Sam Cantor, supersub Leon Huller latched on to a pass from Mark Addis to level the scores.

An injury to keeper Jody Marks allowed Miam Miam to come out on top.

Lee said: "With three games in hand on those around, I'm confident that we can get out of trouble. We will need to find our shooting boots, though, as midfield dominance is not being converted into goals."

South's faces The Village in the quarter-finals of the Handicup on Sunday.
