Lavin loving life at South Manchester

SOUTH MANCHESTER SC 1st 5

PWC 3

Football South Manchester continued their 100 per cent start to the season but they were pushed all the way by bottom three side PWC.

Adam Lavin was to prove the difference - scoring four times to bring his season's tally to 13 from just six starts.

South raced into a 2-0 lead. Lavin latched on to a long clearance from Mark Addis and finished coolly after rounding the keeper.

The lead was doubled on 20 minutes as Alex Koslover rattled in a shot into the top corner after a fine pull-back from Toby Levy.

Incredibly, South went to sleep defensively and PWC fought back to level the game at 2-2 before half time.

A tactical reshuffle laid the foundations for South to dominate the second half. It came as no surprise when a sharp turn in the box saw Lavin score at the near post to put South 3-2 up.

The opposition refused to lie down however and further defensive hesitancy saw PWC pull the game back to 3-3 with only 20 minutes remaining.

Harvey Kaye and Loz Newman came on as South chased the game and Lavin powered in a Toby Levy free kick with his head to restore the lead with 10 minutes remaining.

South were able to relax finally after 85 minutes when Lavin scored his fourth and South's fifth to end the scoring.

When the title is handed out at the end of the season South may be able to look back on this game as one of the key moments.
