Cup kings Hendon ran in an incredible 17 goals as they put Division Three minnows Boca to the sword at Hadley FC.

YISHAI LAST was the star of the show, firing home a fab five-goal salvo, including a treble inside the opening 10 minutes.

GREG CORIN and BEN KON claimed hat-tricks, with Avidan Last and Ari Last chipping in with doubles, along with one apiece from Avi Korman and Rafi Kon.

Hendon boss David Garbacz told JC Sport: "This was as dominant a performance as you can ever expect to see. We were 5-0 up inside 15 minutes and it was always a question of how many. We must become more clinical however as I thought we should have had at least 25!

"I would like to credit Boca - they could easily have walked off and just given up but they kept going in what must have been quite difficult circumstances and showed really good spirit and it was nice that they managed to score - at that stage we were only leading by 13 and we feared an almighty comeback!

"Everyone was excellent today but I would make a special mention of Yishai Last and Avi Korman who were both unplayable. I'm sure Yishai must have scored a record quick Maccabi hat-trick which he had completed inside the first 10 minutes. I presume we will have tougher assignments in the cup this year but step one was most enjoyable."

Boca joint-manager Jack Shulman said: "In the first half we got what we deserved. We started the game so poorly and no wonder they where so far in front by half time.

"During the break I gave a stern half time message, that we are looking for a performance, we knew the result was beyond us but if we worked hard we could get some good practice in for next week.

"We made a formation change and brought on two from the bench, it had the desired effect - we where sharper in the tackle, quicker to the loose balls and we even scored by playing football the way we want to!

"It was a tough result to take but the second half performance gives us optimism for Sunday."
