A hat-trick from JOSH KENNET inspired cup holders Redbridge A to a stunning 5-0 win at the Hive against an in-form Faithfold.
It was a game where Eilon Kennet's men flexed their muscles, with further strikes from centre half Brad Frankel and Steve Gevertz putting them into the quarter-finals.
RJC boss Eilon Kennet told JC Sport: "I'm really delighted with the performance, not just the score.
"We had a very definite game plan, which the boys put into practice perfectly.
"Also, the level of concentration was excellent and I can't remember Faithfold creating any chances.
"Faithfold are a quality side, particularly strong going forward, so this was very pleasing. The commitment and desire was awesome.
"Some results haven't gone for us and I think they boys were very motivated to change that. It was such a good team performance, and everyone played their part brilliantly.
"I always imagined that the boys were hungry enough to win, but I didn't see a 5-0 result. We were first out of the blocks and never eased up. This was without doubt the best performance so far. Obviously, Josh made a big difference.
"We know he can't be available every week, so we have to get used to reaching this level of performance without him too.
"Yesterday, every player played to his full potential, so I'm sure we can reach these heights again, even if Josh is not on the team-sheet. It was also good to have Stolie back after his operation.
"For the first few games of the season, we struggled for numbers, but now we are back to a healthy competition for places again.
"I think this should kickstart the rest of our season. The boys should now have the self-belief that they can repeat last season's successes again, certainly if they can continue playing like they did yesterday.
Now it's a classic scenario of one game at a time coming up.
"As for the league, so long as the top teams continue to take points off each other we have a chance, but it will be hard.
"First thing we need to do is to catch up with our outstanding fixtures and try to get a run of games going.
"As for the cups, its down to many diverse factors we can't always influence, but it's always fun to play in these competitions, especially when you are one of the cup holders."
Faithfold boss Zuriel Solomon told JC Sport: "We were just not at the races from the first whistle which surprised me as we have been great this year.
"Our performances level were really low and well below par. We have a massive injury list and players playing with injuries so it was always going to be a tough ask. You need good players to win games especially when you play good teams.
"Redbridge played well and deserved there win and the scoreline.
"I will not let this knock the confidence of the side in football you always get an opportunity to make amends.
"Once we have all are players back from injury, we will definitely be better. It's hard to assess your chances when we had so many people playing out of position and making first starts."
Faithfold assistant-player-manager Daryl Phillips told JC Sport: "Josh Kennet was very good as you would expect from a player who has play pro in the Holy land.
"However he was not the difference. We were poor 1-11 they were up for it 1-11.
"They deserved to smash us. We will see how we fare when we next play them and move on from this heavy defeat. It's gone now and so has the CA cup until next year."
