Kayal out for two months after ankle operation

articlemain

Brighton midfielder Beram Kayal is facing two months on the sidelines after ankle surgery.

The Israel international has undergone an operation on his right ankle which will see him out of action until at least December.

It’s a blow for club and country with Kayal, 28, missing key games for the promotion-chasing Seagulls.

He will also miss the crunch World Cup qualifier in Albania.

Albion boss Chris Hughton said: “He's ended up having a small operation where he had a very slight fracture.

"The decision was whether to do a procedure or not and the decision was to have a procedure, so he will be out for a period of time now which is a big blow for us.

"It is certainly the best thing for him to have the procedure done and will see him back in reasonable time. We are hoping to have him back at some stage in December."
