Jubilant Jaffe inspires 10-man England FC

    HAMILTON FX OLIM LEAGUE
ENGLAND FC 3 AVIV CITY 1

England FC took on Aviv City in a feisty encounter that saw five yellow cards and a sending off. Referee Eli was a busy man in a very stop-start game.

England came into the game unbeaten while Aviv were looking for their first win, but it was England who started the brighter with Adam Jaffe and David Flo both calling Aviv keeper Robert Bradman into action.

At the other end, Aviv’s best chance came from a long-range shot from Ousmane Youlla that hit the inside of the post.

The deadlock was eventually broken when Yoni Sidi floated in a free-kick that Tommer Zaban had the time to bring down and slot home.

With all the cards flying, about England FC tried to calm things down and warn those on a booking to take it easy. This lasted four minutes when Flo lunged in and collected his second yellow, but he did not leave the pitch easily and at one point took the match ball and kicked it into the stands. Fortunately, the ball was returned and with 10 men, England had to sit back and play on the counter.

However, England doubled their lead when Tommer Zaban played in the ruthless Adam Jaffe he did the rest by placing the ball in the right-hand corner.

England kept two lines of four that Aviv, for all their posession, could not break down. Their only threat could come from outside the box but England keeper Ariel Soloman handled them brilliantly.

With a minute on the clock, Jaffe decided to end the contest with a great run - beating two players and leaving the keeper no chance to the delight of the home bench and players.

Aviv managed a last-minute consolation goal from Peter Emolla but the whistle seconds later, leaving England with a 100 per cent record.

England FC player-manager Yoni Sidi said: "To win a game like this in the manner we did was extremely satisfying.

"To go down to 10 men so early was difficult, but we dug in deep and never really looked in danger. We were great as a defensive unit especially the back four who gave nothing away and when you have Jaffe up front you will always score goals.

"A 100 per cent record so far is a good start, but every game is tough in this league so we will need to keep on improving as a team."
