Joshua Newman trampoline win

articlemain

Joshua Newman won the Under 13 Eastern Region Trampoline Grading Competition at Brentwood school sports centre.

A pupil at Clore Tikva, Newman, 11, performed a top score of 8.6 in the compulsory routine and equally impressive 8.3 in the voluntary routine.

He finished first by some distance with an impressive total of 46.2.

Newman (inset) was the only participant to pass the grade on the day. This will enable him to compete at a higher level in future.

Trained by Graham Parker, the three-time British champion, Newman has been training four times a week for the past five months. He is a member of the Brentwood Trampoline Club Academy.
