The Peter Morrison Trophy final takes centre stage this weekend while there is also the small matter of a potential title-decider in Division Four as the JC MSFL season draws to a close. Danny Caro looks ahead to all the action.

    JC MSFL PREMIER DIVISION

    SEE LEAGUE TABLES

HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB A vs NORTH WEST NEASDEN B

The Premier Division draws to an end on Sunday when runners-up Hendon tackle a Neasden B team seeking a victory that would lift them off the foot of the table.

It's been a season of what might have been for David Garbacz's Hammers who finished second best behind Redbridge in the league and cup.

Victory for Hendon would see them finish six points behind the champions and having already put the feelers out for Los Blancos hotshot Dany Kon, it would not surprise me if the likes of Saul Conway and Avidan Last try to fill their boots in a bid to win contract extensions next season.

The Reds have already enjoyed three victories over Neasden teams this season including a 2-0 success over the Bs.

Ben Kon and Last were the scorers in the 2-0 success on October 17.

Hendon have not played a competitive game since last month's Anekstein final defeat. They showed everyone their class and character that day in a game I expected Redbridge to stretch them on a big, fast pitch.

Neasden go into the game on the back of a derby defeat. Two goals from Rob Bloch could not stop them from going down 4-2.

Now they hope to finish the season on a high. As joint-manager Ryan Glynne told JC Sport: "We have a full squad for Sunday and are looking forward to another tightly contested game with Hendon.

"Hopefully we'll be able to win and finish the season on a high."

I've heard rumours that Neasden's A and B teams will merge over the summer and although it would be a great way for the Bs to bow out, I think Hendon will have too much on the day.

    DIVISION FOUR

INTER BOREHAMWOOD vs GLENTHORNE UNITED B

It's D-day at the Hive as title rivals Borehamwood and Glenthorne get ready to rumble one last time.

The script is simple. Victory for either side would see them crowned champions. Defeat would see current leaders Blizzard Storm finish with the pot of gold.

The build-up to the game has been somewhat distracted with the news that Glenthorne have already lined up a new management team for next season.

Elliot Coulton and his assistant James Law are being replaced by Sam Rosenthal and Craig Sandford.

I'm sure the players will be looking to give the outgoing Coulton the perfect send-off.

I could see tears in his eyes at the midweek press conference. He told JC Sport: "We're going into this game very confident after beating Inter 4-1 at home, but they are a tough side and have just thumped Los Blancos."

The Borehamwood boys hit top gear last weekend. Adam Newman's hat-trick steered them to an 8-2 demolition of Blancos.

Ben Zelouf, Joe Levy, Joel Lassman, Jerome Colmans and Richard Winton put the icing on the cake.

Revenge will be the name of the game for a Borehamwood team flying at the minute. Either side of defeats against Blizzard, they have been scoring for fun and keeping clean sheets.

Blizzard Storm start the weekend top of the table. Manager Simon Linden told JC Sport: "I wish my luck to Glenthorne and Inter for Sundays match."

Looking back on Blizzard's season, Linden said: "I'm delighted with our top two finish and automatic promotion. We can be proud of our achievements.

"To finish in the top two and do the double over Glenthorne and Inter is a brilliant squad effort.

If we win the league it will be a bonus however we are all looking forward to playing Division 3 football next year."

Going back to Sunday's game, obviously the title is the priority for both camps but a point would be enough to keep the Thornes ahead of Borehamwood and finished runners-up.

There will be a pressure-cooker atmosphere at the Hive and ref Aaron Djanogly will do well to keep his cards in his pocket. I think it's safe to say that whichever teams keeps 11 men on the pitch will come out on top.

I can see Sunday's game being settled by small details including which team holds their nerve and takes their chances.

The main thing is that the destiny of both teams lies in their own hands. May the best team win.

JC team news: Glenthorne are missing Daniel 'the Beast' Lassman but top-scorer Fabio Revieccio will play.

Venue: The Hive, Ref: A. Djanogly

JC star man: Adam Newman (Borehamwood)

DC Prediction: Inter Borehamwood 2 Glenthorne Utd B 1
