Faithfold spurned plenty of chances to win it, including a penalty from Alex Levack saved by Rep Team teammate Dan Lee.

Faithfold manager Zuriel Solomon told JC Sport: “We should have won but, as we are well aware, if you don’t take your chances you get punished

"I’m proud of how we’ve applied ourselves. I still think we have a chance to win the title.”

Redbridge manager Sam McCarthy told JC Sport: “We didn’t get our defensive game together. We are grateful to our keeper who saved us with the second penalty and one brilliant save in particular.”

CARR TO STAND DOWN FROM NEASDEN

Lions manager Eilon Kennet told JC Sport: "That's another good team performance, but we are still not putting away our chances and the score fails to reflect our superiority.

"The next two weeks are huge for us. The CA Cup against Neasden A and the PMT against Manchester.

"No doubt we''ll need to put together quality performances in both these competitions if we want to extend our season.

"It was also good to have Sam Arghebant back yesterday, head and shoulders the star of the show for us yesterday."

Paul Bentley (2), Yishai Last, Ben Kon, Greg Corin, Avidan Last and Josh Bentley completed the rout.

Lee Cash fired a pair of consolations for Neasden.

David Garbacz, the Hendon manager, told JC Sport: "We put up another quality performance today against a Neasden team clearly lacking in confidence.

"We had to be patient, especially in the first half but scored a crucial goal just before the break to go 2-1 up.

"This gave us the confidence to really drive home that advantage in the second half, and in the end, we ran out very comfortable winners.

"We are taking each game as it comes but it is certainly getting very interesting at the top. We were buoyed by the Redbridge draw at Faithfold as that now leaves matters in our hands which is the way we like it."

OAKS TOPPLE TEAM
FC TEAM A 1 OAKWOOD 3
The Oaks boosted their title hopes with an impressive victory over third-placed FC Team in Mill Hill.

Two goals from Rubin plus one from Eddie Manson saw them home.

Team's goal came through Adam Rosenfield.

Oaks joint player-manager Ric Blank told JC Sport: "Yesterday was a great all-round team performance. We dominated from start to finish and from back to front.

"Team were never in the game really and even on a terrible pitch we played some great stuff. Even when they were awarded a penalty, I felt confident we'd still go on and win. It helped that he sliced it wide though!

"But it's only one win and all we want to do is try and play at that level each week. We've got Camden on Sunday so are turning our attentions to that."

Mitch Young, the FC Team player-manager, told JC Sport: "I feel totally let down by the players.

"The performance was the worst any side I have ever managed have given.

"Strong words were said in the dressing room and hopefully that causes a reaction.

"Oakwood fully deserved the victory."

LONDON MACCABI LIONS C 1 CHIGWELL ATHLETIC 3
Two more goals from the red-hot Neil Tilley, making it five in two games, clinched Chigwell’s seventh league win of the season as they came away from Rowley Lane with maximum points.

The Chigs fell behind after 30 minutes but they levelled just a minute later when a through ball from Sam Rosenthal found Tilley who coolly slotted into the bottom right-hand corner
The match was turned on its head five minutes later as Tilley claimed a stunning goal of the week contender following a sensational solo run.

The visitors wrapped up the points after 75 minutes when Glenn Michaels tucked away a penalty.

Richard Gold was on target for the Lions.

Chigwell manager Richard Slater told JC Sport: “Once we got ourselves together after the first 20 and settled, we started to find gaps wide and in the channels, especially in the second half we totally dominated and but for their keeper, who was outstanding, it could have been five or six. This was a crucial three points today ahead of FC Team A at Peter May next week.”

Chigwell: Rob Shepherdson, Russell Yershon, Glenn Davis, Adam Shafron, Sam Rosenthal, Russell Becker (sub: Adam Goodman 70), Daniel Castle, Michael Witzenfeld, Doron Weinstein (sub: Richard Slater 80), Glenn Michaels (sub: Jon Swead 75), Neil Tilley.

Andrew Souber's men were not at their vintage best, but they still had too much for lowly FC Team B in Hatch End as they moved a point clear of former leaders Norstar with two games in hand.

Meeting FC Team B for the third time this season, Fortune found their opposition much-improved, but they still dominated the opening half but missed a hatful of chances.

After the break, the performance dipped and Fortune were made to work very hard to claim the points. Midfielder Jon Fisher and defender Jonathan Cohen grabbed the crucial goals.

Fortune assistant-manager Lee Fegan said: "We had chance after chance in the first half but couldn't find the back of the net. In the second half we didn't play so well and it was very hard going. But we got the points and now we can focus on the next game."

It was a competitve game, with Faithfold on top in the first half mainly through set-piece pressure, but unable to take the lead.

In the second half, HMZ dominated possession and created the opportunities to win the game. HMZ took the lead on 55 minutes, when a clearance from a free-kick was bundled over the line by Danny Potter from close range.

Faithfold equalised almost immediately with a well-taken free-kick from Josh Sugarbread.

HMZ resumed their dominance and created further chances and regained the lead on 65 minutes when Potter danced around the Faithfold defence and slotted the ball into the bottom corner with his left foot.

This time Faithfold had no response and HMZ soon made it 3-1 on 75 minutes when Potter went through on goal from the halfway line and nutmegged the keeper for his second consectuve hat-trick.

Faithfold pushed on and tried to come back, but HMZ's defence limited their opportunities and although a well-taken goal from Josh Franklin on 85 minutes gave Faithfold hope of rescuing a point, but HMZ were in no mood to give up the points and secured their second win over Faithfold C this season.

LEADERS EDGE HOME
GLENTHORNE UNITED A 2 UJIA 1
As predicted, leaders Glenthorne ran out 2-1 victors with player-manager Dan Lipman and Josh Cohen on target in a hard fought win.

UJIA's goal came through Dan Roth.

Thornes player-boss Dan Lipman told JC Sport: "We didn’t play well today but still managed to grind out a result. The first half was very scrappy and we fell asleep in the middle to allow UJIA to stroll through and get back into the game, but the second half was a different story.

"We had loads of opportunities to run away with it yet we just couldn’t finish our dinner. We owe a lot to Geppert who made a game winning tackle when the UJIA striker was clean though on goal in last few minutes, which secured the points. Three more points, job done!"

UJIA player-manager Darren Rolfe told JC Sport: For a team that have only been beaten once this year, it was a very even contest indeed.

"We were disappointed not to come away from the game with a share of the spoils. Glenthorne are a beatable team even though they are an organised outfit. A moment of madness cost us a point.

"We look forward to the game against Glenthorne."

CATS WIN RELEGATION SIX-POINTER
TEAM JLGB 0 CATFORD & BROMLEY MACCABI 3
The Cats claimed a rare victory with Jamie Sinai and Jonathan Bord among the scorers in a crucial win over JLGB in Walthamstow.

JLGB were only able to field nine men today, and the 9 men were, according to player-manager Robert Silverman, "absolutely amazing".

Hit by two late drop-outs, JLGB fielded a 4-3-1 formation, and put in an incredibly brave performance. In the first half, JLGB had the only chance of note with Barry Green going close from a tight angle but the keeper saved.

Rob Levene, the JLGB keeper, did not have a single save to make in the first half and that was due to the incredible resilience of JLGB.

During the second half, JLGB understandably began to tire and after 15 minutes a mistake by JLGB defence led to a simple finish for Catford.

Minutes later Silverman planted a header just the wrong side of the post from an excelllent Mike Marks cross.

Catford then scored two more goals that a less exhausted JLGB surely would have been able to prevent.

Lee Stone went close with a header with the last kick of the game.

After the game, Silverman told JC Sport: "Every single player was awesome today and although the result is obviously the most important thing, JLGB's performance all things considering was far superior than Catford's

"Lee Stone was a rock at centre back, Barry Green covered every blade of grass in midfield and Nicky Stone had a great game too.

"Unfortunately, the future of JLGB does not look bright. Apart from a core of about 10/11 players, the commitment of the rest of the squad may well dictate that we will have to fold. Some of the squad are excused because of their circumstances (babies, etc), but others need to step up.

"JLGB are going to try and dip into the loan market, but if we are unable to put an 11 man team out again, it could be curtains."

LOS BLANCOS CLOSING THE GAP
BLIZZARD STORM 1 LOS BLANCOS 2
Table-topping Blizzard Storm suffered their second consecutive defeat as Los Blancos boosted their own hopes with a crucial 2-1 victory.

Captain Dovid Greenberg and an own goal were enough to earn LB their eighth league win of the campaign and move to within six points of Blizzard with three games in hand.

LB went 1-0 up within the opening minute, with a Blizzard own goal as their goalie air kicked a back pass which was bobbling all over a poor pitch.

The lead was doubled just after the break as Marc Benamram was brought down in the area after he powered into the area following a counter-attack down the right. Greenberg dispatched a penalty of the highest order giving the goalie no chance.

Blizzard ensured an exciting end to proceedings as Stuart Muller headed in from a set piece with 25 minutes left on the clock.

The Blancos defence held out strong to bring home a deserved three points.

Simon Linden, the Blizzard boss, told JC Sport: "We were unlucky to not get anything from the game. After a sloppy start we found our feet and played really well. A freak own goal plus a penalty won it for Blancos.

"The keeper Cohen, who keeps offering shwarmas to sign Joel Kutner, was man of match.

"We now have a test of character to get our promotion challenge back on track."

DC Prediction: Blizzard Storm 2 Los Blancos 1

JOY FOR JEWVENTUS
JEWVENTUS 3 TEMPLE FORTUNE B 2
Goals from Gabriel Saul, player-manager Gabriel John and Dan Blass earned Jewentus their first win of 2011 as they overcame Temple Fortune B in a five-goal thriller at Chase Lodge.

The match featured a tough, well-fought contest between two sides looking for some consistency in 2011.

Jewve forged into a 3-0 lead with Fortune scoring twice in the last 20 minutes with Terry Jeffries bagging a brace .

Jewve boss Gabriel John told JC Sport: "It was a good win but one which needs to be followed up by good results against Blizzard Storm over two legs."

RAIDERS LEAVE NEASDEN C DOUBLED UP
NORTH WEST NEASDEN C 1 NORTH LONDON RAIDERS C 4
The Raiders completed a quickfire league double over Neasden C, running out comfortable 4-1 victors.

Brothers Harry Franks and Jack Franks continued their fine form, along with Joe Newton and Matt Greene who also found the net.

Jack Peet snatched a consolation for Neasden.

Delighted Raiders boss Oli Shorts told JC Sport: "Another top quality performance from my boys. We needed to play at our best throughout and we did so.

"Neasden were a completely different outfit to the side we beat 8-0 a fortnight ago and gave us a really good game. The result could have been different if it wasn't for an Alex Kanter penalty save on about five minutes. The lads dug deep throughout the 90 and kept Neasden at bay reducing them to long range efforts.

"January has been a great month for us. Rich Abrahams and myself know that we must keep our feet firmly on the ground and continue this fine form into February."

Louis Taylor, the Neasden player-manager, told JC Sport: "It was a much closer game than last time. We started slowly and their quality few players made all the difference. On to next week!"

DC Prediction: NW Neasden C 2 NL Raiders C 4

LINDSAY LAUDS IT FOR PARK
SHIRLEY PARK 1 HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB C 0
A solitary strike from top-scorer Jason Lindsay was all that separated the teams here as Shirley Park cllimbed above the Hustlers.

Dave Lusman, Shirley Park's joint-manager, told JC Sport: "This was a well-deserved victory for the Park lads. Hendon were under pressure from the off, we spent the best part of the game in their half, their goalkeeper was outstanding throughout the game pulling off save after save to keeped the scorce line down to respectable level.

"Jason Lindsay was Park's man-of-the-match, and one could only compare his performace and so would he, to some of the old school footballers of the past with the vision of Sheringham, and the finishing of Fowler. Lindsay ran the game. Bobby Robson would of been proud of his display.

"We welcome back Plotnek, the Bushell brothers and other key players, who were rested this week, for next week's fixture with Glenthorne."

DC Prediction: Shirley Park 3 Hendon Utd SC C 1
