JC MSFL Goal of the Week: October 30

articlemain

There has arguably never been a more popular winner than this one!

WINNER: Raffi Addlestone (Norstar B) - surged forward on a trademark burst down the right; the ball broke loose and bounced around before it fell for Addlestone to volley it like a bullet from the right hand edge of the area into the top left hand corner! The boost of the screamer (on erev Halloween!)

------------------------------------------------

Nominations:

- Gavin Sherman (UJIA) - stunning strike from 18 yards - a pile-driver that pinged into the stanchion

- Jamie Kent (Brixton A) - a delightful flicked finish following a through ball from George Fierstone

- Danny Kon (Hendon A) - outpaced the Glenthorne defence with ease and then sublimely chipped the advancing keeper with the outside of his boot into the empty net. Pure class!

- Alex Seligman (UJIA) - ran the length of the pitch, released the ball to Nick Russell, who crossed back to him - and he scored with a spectacular scissor-kick

- David Fox (NW Neasden A) - "a worldie" from the keeper who converted to right-back not so long ago. A 30-yard net-buster that no keeper in the world would have kept out

- Ashley Burns (SPEC) - dancing his way through the Brixton defence for the third time this season to slot home his first of two

- Danny Sherman (Brixton B) - collected the ball no more then 10 yards in front of the halfway line out wide on the left wing, turned inside the SPEC FC winger, looked up and hit a gorgeous lob that must have dropped in the top left corner by a couple of inches. Goalkeeper rooted. Quite brilliant!

- Avi Markiewitz (Southgate Harmen A) - scored his first goal for Harmen and it was peach from 25 yards. After dinking the ball past two players he found a bit of space and hit the ball very cleanly into the top corner

- Alex Hershman (Brady A) - GOAL 1 - hit and a brilliant strike from about 35 yards, which rocketed into the top corner, in a similar manner to Mata’s goal 24 hours earlier

- Alex Hershman (Brady A) - GOAL 2 - a great run saw him leave three men in his wake and fire home into the bottom corner, leaving the keeper clutching at air

- Sefton Monk (Boca Jewniors) - lashed a 30-yard left-foot strike that found its way over the Jewventus goalkeeper and into the net
