articlemain

Israel qualified for next month’s Uefa European under-19 Championships finals in Hungary with a 1-0 victory over Georgia.

Substitute Sagiv Jehezkel's fired a 69th minute winner to send the Israelis into the eight-team finals for the
first time ever.

Israel manager Eli Ohana said: "This is the finest moment of my managerial career. The boys put their heart and soul into this and showed they are among the best in Europe.

"I don't think we are good enough to become European Champions, but I believe we can do well in the tournament and qualify for next year's Under 20 World Cup in New Zealand."
