Israel net lacrosse win

articlemain

British pair Natasha Kalmanson and Sacha Stout inspired Israel’s lacrosse teams to victory at the EC12 Festival in Holland.

Kalmanson was part of the women’s team which fought back from a four-goal deficit to claim the title.

Manchester-born Stout was also in the thick of the action, helping the men’s team win all 14 games on their way to glory.

Stout, 22, has captained both the University of Manchester and the combined England University’s side.

The midfielder was the only British male player involved with the squad.

“It was a great experience,” he said. “We had a great time in Amsterdam and it was great to win.”

Women’s star Kalmanson commented: “Everyone was so happy, our cheeks began to hurt from smiling so much.

“It was one of the most surreal moments of my life. We couldn’t believe that we had done it.

“A year ago, there was no lacrosse in Israel and now, the festival teams have dominated and won the tournament.”
