Host club Whitefield won the Gerald Tankel Trophy at the Provincial Tournament in Manchester.

Whitefield beat Bonnyton by a comfortable margin in the best team net event.

The event, organised by The Association of Jewish Golf Clubs & Societies, featured teams of six males from the affiliated Clubs and Societies based north of London, with the best four net scores to count toward the team prizes.

The Mervyn Berg Trophy for the best gross score was secured by Paul Simon of Dunham Forest with a fine round of 72. The best net score of 66 by Phillip Truran of Shirley earned him the Marshall Bellow Trophy.

Whitefield has always been recognised as an extremely tough test of golf but nevertheless the competitors produced some excellent scores.

The Club Captain, David Ballon, presented the prizes at the end of a successful and well supported event.
