Heartbreak for Athletic Bilbaum

JC BARRY GOLDSTEIN TROPHY GROUP D
Team JLGB 1 Athletic Bilbaum 3

Athletic Bilbaum closed the group with their first victory as they overcame higher division JLGB in Walthamstow.

Strikes from joint-player-managers Ed Green and Mark Pasha, plus one from Benjy Aarons-Richardson saw them home.

JLGB got a consolation at the death. Ryan Kissin played a good ball down the left flank for Barry Green who took it to the byline, beat two men and pulled the ball back for Byron Watkins who finished well.

Bilbaum's Mark Pasha told JC Sport: "We are gutted to go out of the cup by such a tight margin, having conceded what turned out to be a crucial goal with the last kick of the game.

"Baum Baum will be dishing out the punishment (marmite back waxings) in training on Wednesday."

JLGB manager Rob Silverman told JC Sport: "This was a close game with chances at a premium for both sides for the first 70 minutes.

"The last 20 minutes saw Bilbaum come alive. The first goal from a very innocuous penalty, the second a good build-up and finish and the third an excellent free kick."
