Hawks record a perfect 10

articlemain

Hendon Hawks A Under 10s secured a third consecutive victory, beating Redbridge Jewish Care by 10-2 in the MGBPFL clash.

The Hawks were quick out of the starting blocks with Matti Karp opening the scoring with a counter-attack. A Redbridge corner was whipped in only to be headed out to Matti Karp, who ran the length of the pitch to slot the ball into the back of the net.

The Hawks continued to dominate proceedings and within minutes the Hawks lead was extended by David Amor, who was on hand to poach home the re-bound after Josh Weiler's effort was parried.

Redbridge were determined to get back into the game but could only find the woodwork in the first half.

The Hawks extended their advantage courtesy of a further four goals in the first half, scored by Joel Gottlieb, Jonathan Korn, Weiler and Amor.

Redbridge came out for the second half the more determined of the two teams. They soon threatened the Hawks goal before smashing home two goals to reduce the deficit to four.

The Hawks were looking vulnerable but gradually settled down and were rewarded for their efforts with further goals from Karp, who rattled the back of the net midway through the second half for his brace.

Avishai Marcus added his name to the scoresheet twice in quick succession. For the first, he struck the ball in to the left hand bottom corner. Then he slotted the ball beyond the diving Redbridge keeper for the Hawks's ninth.

Jamie Rosen completed the rout, scoring goal number 10.
