Hats off to Hendon, says Harmen boss

Dan Uzan, manager of Southgate Harmen A, wants Hendon United A to win the title after they hit his team for six to go top of the Premier Division.

A hat-trick from Yishai Last plus further efforts from Greg Corin (2) and Ben Kon sealed a 6-1 victory, with new dad Alex Bourne, the husband of Rachel Stevens, registering Harmen's consolation.

"This is the business end of the season and we can't afford many more results like that," said Uzan. "What we realised yesterday was that while we may have plenty of good players in our squad, it takes a long time and a lot of commitment to become a real team, and that's what Hendon are. "They are a great club, with a fantastic attitude and great bunch of boys. None of the usual attitude or moaning and I really hope they go on to win the league this year."

David Garbacz, the Hendon boss, said: "We are looking very solid at the moment and are playing with bundles of confidence. We are delighted to have hit top spot and it will take a decent team to budge us this year."

Defending champions North West Neasden A rediscovered their winning formula with a 5-0 demolition of third-placed North London Raiders A. TJ Keterman (2), Rob Lerner, Danny Daggers and Elliot Stern completed the rout.

NWN coach Darren Yarlett, who took charge in the absence of Jamie Cole, said: "We played superbly, passed the ball very well and to be honest it should have been a lot more."

London Maccabi Lions A marched into the fourth round of the Peter Morrison Trophy after putting Division Two strugglers L'Equipe to the sword. Jon Green (4), Mike Pearson (2) and Sam Arghebant (2) wrapped up an 8-0 victory.

Gary Cohen (2), Simon Hecker, Simon Wax, James Sandler and an own goal helped Montana Boca United A thump FC Marylebone 6-1.

First division Oakwood needed extra time to see off Redbridge C with Adam Levine, Antony Kintish and Ben Myers their marksmen. James Ryan struck for RJC.

Oakwood manager Alex Schock said: "It was an extremely tough game for us and credit must go to our opposition who although two divisions below us, pushed us all the way."

Redbridge A fared better with Dean Nyman (3), Danny Hakimi (2), Lewis Walker and Jamie Cooper steering them past Southgate Harmen B. Lloyd Becker grabbed a consolation.

Faithfold A booked their place in the fourth round of the JC Cyril Anekstein Cup after coming from behind to beat FC Team A 7-2. An upset looked on the cards after Richard Salmon struck twice but Faithfold stepped up a gear with goals from Daryl Phillips (3), Jonny Haik, Dan Howard, Joe Levi and Alex Kaye taking them through.

North London Raiders A are top of Division One following a 6-1 success over Redbridge B. David Dinkin (3) made it 11 goals in eight games while Nicky Woolf (2) and Mike Hershman put the icing on the cake.

Goals from Paul Lenchner, Glenn Michaels and Dan Castle helped Chigwell Athletic come from two goals down to beat Lions C. Will Beresford and Adam Kosky netted for Lions.

A strike from Jamie Kent earned Brixton Old Boys a draw against Division Two leaders Norstar A, whose goal came through Jonny Pressman.

Temple Fortune A moved to within a point of top spot after overcoming Montana B with goals from Rob Benson (2) and Paul Walker.

Division Three top-scorer Ben Simons made it 17 for the season with a double as Faithfold C edged past Catford & Bromley Maccabi. Simon Beresford finished the job. Catford's goals came through captain Adam Lewis and Eli Baraty.

A four-goal salvo from Dan Lipman eased table-toppers Glenthorne United A to a 6-1 mauling of Zig Zag. Simon Bitton and David Blackman put the icing on the cake.

Norstar B inflicted a first league defeat of the season on Heath Banta. Josh Gaon, Adam Seres and Jonny Kay did the damage.

Danny Marti and Mariusz Mielniczuk helped Holy Mount Zion maintain their winning formula with a narrow win over Real Life for whom Jonny Bruck netted.

A solitary effort from Los Blancos' Adam Hersh ended Glenthorne B's winning run in Division Four.

Hendon D are joint-top after Haki Elias (2), Dani Rothenberg, Benny Goldberg and Moshe Noe took them past Neasden C. Laurence Spear (2) and Dan Parnell replied.

Shirley Park leapfrogged Jewventus after Gideon Gold (3), Dave Lussman and top-scorer Jason Lindsay helped them claim a 5-2 victory. Richard Fogelman (2) replied.

Blizzard Storm maintained their title charge with Adam Nathan, Joe Stolerman and Alex Rubin on target against North London Raiders C.

Strikes from Anthony Moss and Josh Marlow earned Pinner JFC their first points of the season as they beat Athletic Bilbaum 2-1. Julius Judah pulled one back.

A Jerome Colman treble fired Inter Borehamwood to a 3-2 win at Temple Fortune B. Richard Cooper and Jeff Bathija replied.
