Hasmonean won the annual Jewish Inter-Schools Twenty20 tournament in Bushey.

At the tournament organised by Belmont and Edgware Cricket Club, an innings of 56 from David Ullman steered Hasmonean to victory in the opener against King Solomon. Hasmonean posted 135-9 with the East Londoners replying with 87-9.

JFS beat Immanuel College by six wickets in the other semi-final. Joel Sinclair's 28 helped Immanuel score 114-5. Joshua Shafer top-scored with 49 in the JFS reply.

Batting first in the final, JFS scored 114-5. Shaffer was the key man again as his assured 45 enabled Hasmonean to win with six wickets to spare.

King Solomon (86-8) won the 3rd/4th playoff after Immanuel (79-7).

After lifting the trophy, Shafer was named best batsman while Benjamin Lederman of JFS was the top bowler.

Tournament organiser Neil Myeroff said: "The day was a great success. It gives the schools an opportunity to play competitive cricket and boosts Belmont & Edgware's colts section."
