articlemain

Hartsbourne won the main prize at the John Reubens Tournament, held at Coombe Hill.

Teams of six, with all players being under 21, represent their club with the four best out of six gross scores counting.

Abridge, Dyrham Park, Hartsbourne and Coombe Hill entered teams and faced a strong challenge with an immaculately prepared course made more testing by a strong wind and thick rough.

Hartsbourne retained the Coombe Hill Cup for the team aggregate overall, with runners-up Abridge taking home the Hartsbourne Cup.

Abridge’s Marc Brenner, 16, and Jamie Stoddart of Coombe Hill, produced the best rounds of the day. After a countback it was confirmed that teenage star Brenner had retained the Abridge Cup for the best gross score and Stoddart the Potters Bar Cup.

Greg Berg of Hartsbourne, played well below his handicap and returned a net 65 to win the Dyrham Park Cup
for the best net followed by Joel Citron of Dyrham Park who won the Sussex Cup.
