Hartsbourne on the up

articlemain

Hartsbourne Country Club qualified for the finals of the Hertfordshire Championship Scratch Competition, which took place at South Herts Golf Club.

Qualification is believed to be the first time that a team from a Jewish club has reached the final of the prestigious event. The finest amateur golfers in Hertfordshire were playing on the day and Hartsbourne came in as runners-up. The team consisted of Jeremy Bohn (handicap 1), Mark Gershinson (handicap 1) and Michael Charles (handicap 3). Their gross total was 225. West Herts won by two shots.

Not to be outdone, the ladies at Hartsbourne also had success. Lori Freedman came runner-up and Valerie Lemer finished fourth in the Herts County Ladies Spring Meeting from a high class amateur field of 90.
