Goals from Johnny Abrams and Anthony Beilin sent Haroldeans top of the Joan Collins Premier Division after they beat long-time leaders Republic of Mancunia.

Billed as a potential title decider, the match on Merseyside proved to be a real thriller. Haroldeans settled first and came close when Zach Goodman's 30 yarder crashed against the bar. Republic forged ahead on 35 minutes when Paul Basger slotted past keeper Mike Cross.

Beilin levelled the scores in the second half before Abrams won it late on, firing home after great work from Adam Cross. Haroldeans chairman Fraser Saville said: "This was one of the most exciting games I have seen this season, and although it's not over yet it certainly puts us in the driving seat".

A Simon Mattison double steered South Manchester Maccabi 2nd past Leeds J-New Uni. Oli Grant replied.

Marc Sheldon, Sam Modlin, Greg Louca and Louis Gilbert scored as Manchester Maccabi 3rd reached the final of the Shonn Trophy after thumping Westdene 1st 4-1.
