Hapoel Kiryat Shmona face a big task if they are to reach the group stage of the Champions League for the first time after going down 2-0 against Bate Borisov on Wednesday night.

A goal in each half from Vitali Rodionov completed a deserved victory for Borisov who played against 10 men for the last 20 minutes after Hapoel's Dusan Matovic was sent off by referee Howard Webb for two cautionable offences.

The teams meet again in Israel on Tuesday.
