Grant takes over at Partizan Belgrade

Partizan Belgrade today confirmed Avram Grant as their new manager.

The Israeli was keen to return to the Premiership despite taking West Ham and Portsmouth down, but the Partizan board have identified Grant as the man they want to take over from Aleksandar Stanojevic who was sacked following a dispute with the club's board.

A club statement said: "The board of directors is confident that Avram Grant is at the top of his profession and can achieve the results that are expected from our army of fans."

Defending champions Partizan lie 10 points clear at the top of the Serbian Championship which resumes on March 3.
