Daniel Grant has helped England to their most successful world championships of all time.

Part of a 12-man squad competing in Portland, Oregon, Grant, 24, partnered Ady Lee to win the One Wall Big Ball doubles title.

The Rugby Fives pairing defeated the Eton Fives duo of Pete White and Pete Cohen to ensure England’s first piece of silverware from a World Handball Championship.

A member of the Kol Chai Synagogue in Pinner, Grant also reached the semi-finals of the One Wall Big Ball singles. He enjoyed further success, helping the team win the ELA Cup, following a 2-0 win over Mexico. The victory lifted England to fifth in the world.

A memorable performance was capped off by victory in the Ashes series.

Grant said: “It was a truly successful tournament and I’m especially happy to have a world title.”
