Avram Grant has secured a work permit to start work as manager of West Ham.

Mr Grant, 55, agreed a four-year contract last week to succeed Gianfranco Zola

“I’m proud and honoured to be the manager of West Ham,” said Grant, who has been on holiday with Tzofit in Austria. “It's an exciting challenge and I'm ready to do my best.”

The Israeli has already begun the task of strengthening the West Ham squad, signing German midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger.
