Gothelf & Domb to lead Norstar C challenge

articlemain

A league management committee has approved the admittance of Norstar C into the JC MSFL.

Club chairman Phil Peters was in Edgware yesterday for last-minute talks with the league management where a new Norstar team was formally approved to play in the Maccabi League next season.

At a time when most clubs are losing a team, Norstar are bucking the trend. The C team will be managed by Zack Gothelf, and ably assisted by David Domb.

Peters has known these two men for a combined 30 years and is in no doubt that they have all the skills needed to finally put some silverware in the Norstar trophy cabinet.

Gothelf has recently left Manchester-based Oakhill Lions, where he lead the club to a second place finish in the MJSL Joan Collins Premier Division and to the final of the Harold Feldman Trophy, where they were unfortunate to lose to Manchester Maccabi at Salford FC.

Domb's short managerial career has seen him lift the Faye and Henry Shonn Cup with Hyde Park Rovers after a superb 3-2 victory over Republic of Mancunia and a respectable fourth place finish in the MJSL Premiership.

The duo have been recruiting players for some time and we are likely to see a big influence in terms of personnel and style from last season's Oakhill and Rovers teams.

Gothelf is known to have a huge contact book and will be looking to recruit some major talents. His strong friendship with Bacary Sagna is likely to result in some excellent training sessions.

Domb is similarly well-connected but will be taking a more hands-off approach this season as he looks to stake a claim for a playing position. Whilst the duo are thought to be delighted by their appointment, they were today unavailable for further comment.

It is thought an agreement with their former clubs will result in them remaining silent until July 1.
