Dmitriy Salita is set to exoricse the demons of his Amir Khan nightmare by challenging for the IBA world welterweight title.

Salita, 28, who was crushed by Bolton's Khan last December, will take on Mike Anchondo in a bid to get his career back on track.

The Brooklyn-based Jewish boxer will meet 28-year-old Anchondo, winner of 30 of his 33 fights, at Roseland Ballroom in Times Square, New York.

Salita's own company, Salita Promotions, have teamed up with Universal Boxing to stage the show and has also enlisted the services of legendary trainer Emanuel Steward.

After beginning his preparations with trainer Nirmal Lorick at New York's Universal Boxing Club in Queens, the pair have moved to Detroit to work with Steward at his renowned Kronk Gym.

"I am enjoying my time at the Kronk," said Salita. "Emanuel Steward's experience is providing me with a great deal of boxing education, while working with world champions and top prospects."

Salita bounced back from his WBA light-welterweight defeat by Khan in Newcastle last year by outpointing Franklin Gonzalez at the Oceana Hallin Brooklyn in September.

Now, Salita is aiming to become a champion with the lesser know IBA.

He said: "Winning a world title is my destiny and I will face it head-on on December 16."
