Champions Hendon hit Raiders for six at Brunel, with Jacob Gold coming back to haunt his former club with a top-class hat-trick.

Hendon boss David Garbacz told JC Sport: "We put in a tremendous performance today. We flew out of the blocks and were four goals up within half an hour, with Jacob Gold absolutely terrorising the Raiders defence and pouncing on any hesistation at the back.

"However, it was not all about Jacob today, Greg Corin, Ari Last and Rafi Kon all provided fabulous assists and we were very strong all over the park.

Further strikes from Avidan Last, Greg Corin and Rafi Kon completed the rout.

David Dinkin grabbed a consolation for Raiders.

"It has been a very satisfying start to the season and I could not have asked for more from the boys in these first two games."

Raiders manager Rob Richman told JC Sport: "Hendon were exceptional on Sunday and showed exactly why they won the treble last year. They are a class act and any team who finishes above them will be doing very well.

"We have lots and lots to work on as our performance was nowhere near the required level and it is important we find some form sooner rather than later."
