Glenthorne kick on at the top

Goals from Greg Morris and Jason Levy helped Glenthorne United A maintain their grip at the top of the Maccabi Masters Football League with a 2-0 win over London Maccabi Lions A.

North London Raiders head the chasing pack after they dispatched South Mancunians 4-1 thanks to goals from Dean Schulberg (2), Kevin Lotzof and Daryl Manning. Darren Coon scored Mancs’ consolation.

Laurence Beck was the matchwinner as Brady Maccabi A consigned Faithfold to their fourth consecutive defeat.

In Division Two, EDRS Stonegrove came from behind to beat Glenthorne United B 4-1. Dave Galman put the Thornes ahead but EDRS kept up their unbeaten record courtesy of a brace from Nigel Conway and strikes from Mark Kingston and Ian Leader.

Temple Fortune beat Brady Maccabi B 6-3 with goals from James Ryan (3), guest Brian Deal (2) and Graham Meyer. Pete Sugarman had put Brady ahead only for Fortune to hit back with four goals. Dean Poster and a Gary Field penalty accounted for Brady’s other goals.

l Pel City have been expelled from the Maccabi Masters League for registration irregularities including the falsifying of documents. Their fate was decided at a league EGM.
