articlemain

Wingate & Finchley have re-signed James Gershfield from Ryman Division One's Potters Bar Town.

As a young winger with the Blues, Gershfield, 23, made 28 starts for the senior side as well as a number of appearances as a substitute. He scored 13 goals between 2007-10.

Gershfield returns to the Abrahams Stadium following a two-year spell with Potters Bar, having scored 12 league goals this season.

"I'm delighted to be back at Wingate & Finchley," said Gershfield. "Having played here before as a youngster I know what a great club it is and it's great to finally be home, and now I'm ready to prove myself in the Ryman Premier.

"I have had a great season and a half at Potters Bar, but I am relishing the opportunity of stepping up a division and playing for Gary Meakin and a club that is so close to my heart."
