Gershfield puts NWN in last 16

articlemain

Four goals from Maccabiah star James Gershfield booked North West Neasden A’s place in the last 16 of the Sunday FA Cup as they beat Hammer 4-1.

With strikers Lee Cash and Daniel Levenfiche missing, Wingate & Finchley marksman Gershfield scored twice in each half to seal a third round meeting at home to Bungay Town on Sunday.

NWN joint-manager Daniel Fox said: “We are representing Jewish football and our proud of our achievement as the only Jewish team to get to the last 16 in the Sunday FA Cup this season.

“I don’t usually pick out individual players but James Gershfield was superb. We are now playing in the last 16 against a team from Norfolk who play semi-professional football.

“We can’t wait to get out there with a full-strength squad available. It’s great for Neasden Football Club, playing against very strong sides up and down the country. We want to stay in the trophy.”

Neasden: Shields, Levene, Gottlieb, Shindler, J. Ellis (capt), Bentwood (sub: B. Ellis), Daggers, Sofier, TJ Keterman (sub: B. Sharp), Cole (sub: R. Glynne), Gershfield
