Maccabi GB Masters (Over 45s) opened their four-match Tour of Israel campaign with a hard fought victory over Maccabi Buenos Aires.

Having dominated the opening exchanges, MGB fell behind after 17 minutes. Tony Platman levelled things up just past the half hour mark after Marc Morris had flicked on a free-kick. Morris turned the game on its head three minutes later, lifting the ball over the advancing keeper from a Phil Smith free-kick. Ian Leader came close to adding a third but his shot cannoned inches wide.

Leader and Platman went close in the second half while keeper Gary Grant preserved the lead with a smart save.

MGB, who face the Moscow Government team next, are one of six teams are competing for this vets trophy, being played on an excellent 3G pitch.
