GB can be red-hot in Chile, says Collins

Daniel Collins hopes Maccabi Team GB can unearth some gems at next year's Pan American Maccabi Games in Santiago, Chile.

Collins, who is Joint Vice President of Maccabi GB, believes that the week-long event will give British athletes the chance to win medals on the world stage after the organisation received a special invitation to compete.

"It is a real honour to be invited," said Collins. "The level of Jewish sport across Great Britain is constantly improving and this tournament will give us another chance to measure ourselves against the best Jewish athletes from South America and the rest of the world.

"With the European Maccabi Games 2015 in Berlin next summer there are plenty of opportunities for the community's top athletes to make a name for themselves and represent their country at the highest level.

"We encourage anyone who is good enough, but perhaps has yet to wear the ‘Union Jack Magen David’, to make themselves known and try out. Playing sport alongside other Jewish athletes is, without question, one of the greatest experiences of your life."
