Flixton deserve title, says Delmonte

articlemain

AFC Flixton need just a point to seal the Manchester Accountants League Division One title on Sunday.

Co-managed by Stuart Delmonte and Tony Rosenberg, Flixton host basement battlers Barclays as they look set to be crowned champions to round off their promotion-winning season.

It would cap a fine first campaign for the club in non-Jewish football for Flixton who have also reached the final of the Kings Challenge Cup against Deloitte on May 11.

But Delmonte is just focusing his attentions on securing the first leg of their potential league and cup double.

He said: "We fancy our chances and we want to finish the job off now. Winning the title would be just rewards for the way we have played this season.

"The cup date is looming, but we have other priorities to focus on at the moment."
