Five-star Raiders leave Cats in a flap

articlemain

Strikes from Jamie Wolfson, Adam Joselyn, Jonny Shapiro eased North London Raiders A into the hat for the last 16 as they thumped third division Catford at Brunel.

The other two strikes were own goals, both from devilish crosses from Wolfson.

Catford's consolation came through Ashley Stokes.

Raiders joint-manager Jonathan Adelman told JC Sport: "It was good to have Danny Berliner back in goal for his first game of the season.

"As we continue to get our players back, I know our results will improve and today there were glimpses of the real Raiders.

"We created a hatful of chances and probably should have won by a more emphatic score.

"Credit to Catford they never gave up and created some nice openings, especially in the second half."

Catford joint-manager Adam Lewis told JC Sport: "We're very disappointed in our first half performance. Weak defending and poor choices meant we were 4-0 before we'd even had a chance to get going.

"We played the second half as we should have done the first, but even so should have made more of our chances and come away with more than just one goal to show for our efforts."
