ACCOUNTANTS LEAGUE DIVISION ONE
AFC FLIXTON 5 BLACKSTAR 0

AFC Flixton maintained their push for the Accounts League Division One title after this five-star showing over rock-bottom Blackstar.

Only goal difference is keeping South, who are co-managed by Stuart Delmonte and Tony Rosenberg, off the summit - but that could all change in the new year.

AFC Flixton resume their championship battle against rivals West Manchester on January 5.

But, in the meantime, they will finish the year in good spirits after sweeping aside struggling Blackstar.

Rafi Leeker (2), Rob Jacobs and Michael Sacks had the hosts cruising before the interval. And Dan Garmen’s late strike added the gloss to leave Delmonte purring over another crushing win.

He said: "We blew our visitors away in the first-half and that was our best 45 minutes of the season.

"We could not convert our chances after the break and could only add one more goal. But the damage had already been done and it was another great result.

"Everyone is looking forward to our next game. West Manchester are a strong side, but we will feel we can beat any team at this level on our day."
